A young girl taken in by a village after a revolution, Aviva doesn't know if her parents are still alive or not. Depending on the charity of others, she made the village and mountain her home. A hard worker willing to take on any task, she spends her free time on the mountain, exploring the forests.
These are not ordinary mountains. The Phoenix lives here. A mythical being who protects the mountain, and the villages around it, people whisper about him living in the school at the mountaintop. Who really lives up there? A group of martial artists who do protect and defend the lands around the mountain. And the Phoenix? All she wants is to learn martial arts. Sneaking up to the school, she spies on lessons. Practicing as best as she can, Aviva will do whatever it takes to learn. The problem? Nobody believes girls can be good protectors or defenders.
